About SalahSync
SalahSync is a prayer times app for Muslims. It shows the five daily prayer times — Fajr, Dhuhr, Asr, Maghrib, and Isha — calculated for your location using your choice of calculation method and Asr juristic school, along with a live countdown to the next prayer, today's Hijri date, a daily verse from the Quran, and a simple checklist to mark off the prayers you've completed each day.
Overview
This policy describes exactly what data the app collects, why, and where it goes — nothing more than what is described below.
Location Data
If you enable location access, the app uses your device's GPS coordinates to calculate accurate prayer times and to determine your city and country for display. If you decline or prefer not to grant location access, you can instead choose your country and city manually from a list — the app never requires GPS access to function.
When GPS is used, your coordinates may also be sent to your device's built-in geocoding service (provided by Apple or Google, depending on your platform) solely to convert them into a city/country name for display. This lookup is handled by your operating system, not by us.
Third-Party Service: AlAdhan
To calculate prayer times, the app sends your location — either your GPS coordinates, or your manually chosen city and country — along with your selected calculation method and Asr juristic school, to the AlAdhan Prayer Times API (api.aladhan.com), a third-party service operated independently of SalahSync. No name, email, or other personal identifier is sent with this request. AlAdhan's handling of this data is governed by their own policies, which we do not control.
What We Store On Your Device
Your location (or manually chosen city/country), prayer time calculation method, Asr school, and Hijri date adjustment are saved locally on your device so the app remembers your preferences between sessions. This data stays on your device — SalahSync does not operate any servers of its own, and this information is never uploaded to us or shared with advertisers.
Prayer-completion checkmarks on the Tracker screen are temporary: they exist only in memory while the app is open and are not saved when the app closes or restarts.
What We Don't Do
SalahSync has no user accounts, collects no names, emails, or phone numbers, includes no advertising or analytics SDKs, and does not sell or share your data with third parties for marketing purposes.
Your Choices
You can revoke location permission at any time from your device's system settings, or switch to a manually chosen city/country from within the app's Settings screen. Uninstalling the app, or clearing its app data, permanently deletes everything described above, since it all lives only on your device.
Children's Privacy
SalahSync does not knowingly collect information from children. Since the app has no accounts and no way to identify a user's age, it collects the same minimal, on-device information described above regardless of who uses it.
Changes to This Policy
If what the app collects or how it's used changes in a future update, this page will be updated to reflect that accurately.
