Quick Summary
- The App works completely offline. You are never required to create an account or sign in.
- Without signing in, your bookmarks and read history are stored only on your device and are never sent to us.
- Signing in with Google is entirely optional and exists for one purpose: backing up your bookmarks and read history to the cloud so they survive a reinstall or lost device, and so they sync across your devices.

1Information We Collect
1.1 Information Stored Only on Your Device (No Account Required)
When you use the App without signing in, the following is stored locally on your device and is never transmitted to us:
- Bookmarked duas, meaning which duas you have saved
- Read history, meaning which duas you have marked as read, used to show your reading progress
- App preferences, including display language, translation language, theme (light/dark), font size and font choice, and notification reminder times
This data stays on your device. Uninstalling the App or clearing its data removes it permanently, and we have no copy of it.
1.2 Information Collected When You Sign In (Optional)
If you choose to sign in with Google to enable backup and sync, we collect only your name and Gmail address from your Google account. This is used solely to back up your bookmarks and your marked as read duas to our cloud database (Google Cloud Firestore), and to restore them on any other device where you sign in with the same account.
- Your bookmarks, including which dua was bookmarked, the date and time it was bookmarked, its category, and the language you were using
- Your read history, including which duas you marked as read and when
This is the same data described in section 1.1. Signing in simply copies it to the cloud, and back down to any other device where you sign in, so it isn't lost. We do not collect any additional personal information through the sign-in process beyond your name and Gmail address.
1.3 Push Notification Token
The App uses Firebase Cloud Messaging to support push notifications. This generates a unique device token used solely to deliver notifications to your device. This token does not contain personal information and is not linked to your identity unless you are also signed in.
1.4 Information We Do Not Collect
We do not use analytics, advertising, or crash-reporting SDKs. We do not collect your location, contacts, browsing history, or any device identifiers beyond the push notification token described above. We do not display ads.
2How We Use Your Information
Information collected (whether stored locally or, if you sign in, in the cloud) is used only to:
- Display your bookmarked and recently read duas
- Track and display your reading progress
- Restore your bookmarks and read history when you sign in on a new or reinstalled copy of the App
- Apply your saved preferences (language, theme, font size, reminder times)
- Deliver the daily reminder notifications you've enabled
We do not use your information for advertising, profiling, or any purpose unrelated to the functioning of the App.
3Data Storage and Security
- Locally stored data lives in the App's private storage area on your device, governed by your device's own security model.
- Cloud-stored data (for signed-in users) is stored in Google Cloud Firestore, secured by Google's infrastructure and access-controlled so that only your authenticated account can read or write your own data.
- We do not maintain our own servers that store your personal data outside of Firebase/Google Cloud's managed infrastructure.
4Data Sharing and Third Parties
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information.
We use the following third-party services to operate the App, each of which processes data on our behalf as described above:

These providers (Google/Firebase) may process data in accordance with their own privacy policies. We do not share your data with any other third party.
5Your Rights and Choices
- Use the App without an account. Signing in is never required.
- Sign out at any time (Settings → Sign Out). Your bookmarks and read history remain safely on your device, since signing out does not delete anything locally.
- Delete your account and cloud data (Settings → Delete Account). This permanently deletes your bookmarks, read history, and profile information from our cloud database across all devices, and cannot be undone. Data already stored locally on a given device is separate and is removed by uninstalling the App or clearing its storage.
- Control notifications at any time from Settings, including disabling reminders entirely.
6Children's Privacy
The App does not knowingly collect personal information from children. The App is intended for general audiences interested in Islamic supplications (duas), and account sign-in is optional and not required for any core feature.
7Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
